Reprogramming of the GESTIS database – Analytical Methods for Chemical Agents at Workplaces (GESTIS-AMCAW) (Focus on IFA´s work Nr. 0454)

Suitable validated methods are required to analyse the concentrations of hazardous substances in the workplace atmosphere, and to ensure the compliance with the applicable limit values. In 2005, the Institute for Occupational Safety and Health of the German Social Accident Insurance (IFA) was responsible for developing the first database of suitable validated analytical methods from several international institutions and organisations: GESTIS – Analytical Methods for Chemical Agents at Workplaces (GESTIS-AMCAW). This Sheet 454 of the series “Focus on IFA’s work” describes the revising of the content of this database between 2020 and 2023 and the entire redevelopment of its IT structure.
